National Trust
funding the past so it has a future

There is a misconception that the grand properties that fall under the auspices of the National Trust generate enough funds for the whole endeavour. The truth is shortage of funds is a constant problem. Membership only covers a third of their costs and income from legacies and bequests is often tied to specific properties. That leaves hundreds of properties and thousands of coastal paths and woodlands lying unkempt and unvisited because the National Trust doesn’t have funds to open them up and maintain them.

The For Ever Fund looked to rectify this issue, shedding light on the work the National Trust could - and does - do with more help from the public.
